About MediGrace
Based on 20 years of intensive study and practice with Tibetan meditation teachers and doctors, MediGrace has been researching and developing energy medicine and mind/body medicine methods since 1991, and has presented more than 90 hospital trainings since 1997. MediGrace offers respected methods for self-healing. Health care providers have paid for their doctors, nurses, and counselors to attend the MediGrace trainings. The California Board of Nursing offers education credits to medical professionals and the general public who attend. Doctors have prescribed the Calm Healing audio guide for anxiety and stress disorders, for cancer care, for heart care, and for HIV-AIDS. Medigrace cancer care programs have been presented in Oregon hospitals.
In 1998, MediGrace initiated the pilot program for Calm Birth, an advanced childbirth method. It offers a new vision of the body and potential of the woman in childbirth. The program has been presented at three international congresses of the Association of Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health, at the University of Michigan Medical School, and at Bastyr University. For more information please visit: www.CalmBirth.org.
The MediGrace general medicine program, Calm Healing , is based on the proven uses of meditation in medicine. Its methods lead people into the unconditioned state, a basis of new health. It is both complementary and integral medicine. Calm Healing is based on programs of the Harvard Medical School and the University of Massachusettes Medical Center.
With audio therapies and trainings, MediGrace offers health care methods for the new medical paradigm, methods that can reduce the need for medical interventions. MediGrace has been supported in part by grants from the Rockefeller Foundation and the Health Research Institute.

Recovery from Stress Disability –"I use the Practice of Deep Release to renew and refresh my whole body. It’s a wonderful way to spend healing time with each part of my body, in addition to helping ease pain or discomfort in ‘troubled’ areas." (Cori Taggart, RN)
Recovery from Stroke –"The Calm Healing audio guide has changed my life physically, emotionally, and spiritually, giving me a new focus for living.” (Margie Mee)

Recovery from Cancer –"I feel the daily meditation is the key factor in lowering stress. The continued reminder that I can empower my body to heal is comforting and strengthening. The methods presented in Calm Healing are a cornerstone of my recovery therapy." (Margaret Brandov)
CALM BIRTH
The New Potential of Childbirth
"Calm Birth is a sublime gift to all of us. It contains the blueprint for reconnecting with birth wisdom on all levels. Doing the practices will transform the birth process and imprint a peaceful beginning in both mother and child. The positive impact of this on scoiety can't be overestimated."
Christiane Northrup, MD, author of Mother-Daughter Wisdom and Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom
"Calm Birth is the childbirth method that society and I have waited for. It's been a long time in coming, a very long time. I am a midwife and an educator, with a steady devotion to childbirth. Calm Birth does what is so deeply needed. It heals the Earth by healing birth."
Jeannine Parvati Baker, LM, author of Conscious Conception and Prenatal Yoga and Natural Childbirth
Interview excerpt –"With the Womb Breathing method, during labor I just did it automatically. It’s like I knew to do it. I’d catch myself doing the Womb Breathing. And John was helping me as I did the breaths." (Misty)
Interview excerpt –"By the time of the birth the Womb Breathing practice was a unconscious thing. It just became natural. I think that definitely helped me during the labor…I know that Womb Breathing helped me throughout. It was great. I couldn’t of asked for more.” (Jennifer)
Interview excerpt –"We were 100% committed to the CALM BIRTH practice…It was in our psyche somewhere.”(David) “In our systems…I felt empowered. At the hospital that was my main feeling, of control, that I didn’t have to give my power away to the doctor, which I think I would have if I didn’t have the Calm Birth training. “ (Tamara)
Interview excerpt –"With Calm Birth I was definitely able to do what I wanted to do, which was to open up and allow the universe of life to be poured through me, to be able to embrace it and enjoy it and see it as a real gift…an amazing gift." (Clee)
Interview excerpt –"I know that for me there will be long-term benefits, and I can assume that for the baby there will be too. We’ll see how he develops… the Calm Birth methods I’ll use forever.” (Molly)
Interview excerpt –"There were times where the pains would get bad enough so that I’d forget the Womb Breathing, and they had me pant like a puppy. I found that all that did was make me feel like I was hyperventilating. So I remembered the Calm Birth teaching and the Calm Birth audio guide, and that helped me through labor immensely." (Marie)
Interview excerpt –"Yes, in the community hospital I did listen to the Calm Birth audio guide with the birthing nurses, and with other people. I did Womb Breathing during the labor. I couldn’t imagine not doing it." (Nora)
